The course is a practical approach to special slickline applications and detailed description of downhole tools: procedures and tools for fishing and perforating, types of landing nipples, shifting tools, plugs, circulating devices, procedures and kickover tools for installing/retrieving GLM valves and subsurface safety valves. The course is designed for personnel initiated with basic slickline knowledge, to upgrade their ability to Skills Level in operating and supervising.
Who should attend?
Slickline operators and supervisors, as well as other personnel involved in slickline operations (completion and well intervention engineers and supervisors).
Course Outline:
Day 1
- Review of basic of Slickline Tools and Operations: RB, SB, JUC,JDC, GS, X
- Landing Nipples: No Go, selective - Baker, Otis, Camco
- Plugs: XX and PX Plugs, Baker Plugs
Day 2
- Shifting tools: Otis, Baker
- Circulation Devices (SSD)
- Gas Lift: Kickover Tools, Gas Lift Mandrel and Valves
- Subsurface Safety Valves: Wireline and Tubing retrievable
Day 3
Practical: Review of Tools and Plugs, Shifting Tools, Gas Lift Equipment, Rigging Up, Tubing control. Visit to SLB base.
Day 4
Practical: Running Plugs and Safety Valve. Visit to SLB base.
Fishing Tools: W/L Retreiver, Cable Cutter, Grab, Overshot, etc.. Visit to SLB base.
Practical with Fishing Tools and Gas Lift Equipment.Visit to SLB base.
Day 5
Braided Line and Pressure Equipment,
Fishing: scenario and Calculations
SL Perforating
Downhole Measurements and New Developments.
